Set in the Strangford Lough Conservation Area in the picturesque undulating
drumlin country of Co. Down, Northern Ireland, Ballygraffan International
Horse Trials is easily accessible, only 25 mins drive from Belfast and
approximately 2.5 hours from Dublin. The area is famous for it’s

What
The event is moving from strength to strength both in terms of a sporting
competition and as a great day out. 2008 will bring bigger challenges
than ever before at Ballygraffan International Horse Trials, and we look
forward to seeing horse and rider take on the newly extended cross-country
course. A further 16 acres has been added to the course taking in fantastic

Who
Hugh
Lochore our outstanding course designer will once again design a testing
course with new demands for both horse and rider. The excellent skills
of the course builders the Willis Brothers will implement these developments
with their usual precision and expertise. Both competitors and spectators
will enjoy a superb world-class course.
International & local riders will attend the two-day event, and will
participate in Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross-Country CIC* (one star)
& CIC** (two star) competitions under the charge of Event Director,
Jean Mitchell.
Event hosts June & Jim Burgess are looking forward to this years
competition, they said:
"We are delighted with the extensive developments to the course
this year with the extra land, seventeen new fences including a much more
substantial water jump, it’s looking fantastic. We're expecting
more competitors, both local and international riders and we’ve
got more on offer for the spectators too, everything is set for a great
weekend."
