The Course
Again this year, significant changes are afoot at Ballygraffan.
In 2008 there will be a total of 17 changes including many new jumps, and an extra 16 acres has been secured for the next 5 years that has enabled a new loop to be added to each of the cross-country courses. The new loop will incorporate two new jumps for the CIC** (2 star) and one for the CIC* (one star) with the CIC* (one star) also jumping a new route through the Old Mill complex.
A completely new and extensive water jump has been excavated which is linked to the existing water jump. The CIC** (2 star) will have a choice of challenging routes which incorporates both waters, and in addition, they will jump a newly constructed hedge, coffin and negotiate a different line through the sunken road. The CIC* (1 star) will tackle a challenging bank complex with a bounce and new oxer, coffin and ditch. Although there have been many exciting changes both courses will still be bold and galloping.
